At El Conquistador Resort, we strive to preserve the natural beauty that surrounds us. Our location is nestled among pristine ocean views, lush landscapes, and vibrant marine life—a precious environment that we deeply respect. Through eco-friendly practices, mindful resource management, and community-driven initiatives, we strive to protect and cherish these surroundings so future generations can experience the same breathtaking beauty.

  • Palomino Island has won this award in 2022 and 2024.
  • The reforestation of Palomino is being worked on as an ongoing project. We continue to plant trees indigenous to Puerto Rico such as Roble Plateado, Roble Nativo, and Uvilla.
  • We currently recycle cardboard, plastic, aluminum, and glass.
  • The glass is processed in a plant to create building blocks used in construction.
  • Used light bulbs/ballasts and all electronic equipment are sent to be recycled.
  • All vegetable oils from our kitchens are also sent to a recycling company; which in turn repurposes this for items such as soap and biodiesel.
  • Oil from our transportation (boats, landscaping equipment from our motor pool shop) is all sent out to recycling companies
  • Located next to our Tennis Courts, we are gardening fruits and herbs to use in the Spa and our kitchens. We continue to expand our selection of items cultivated there.
  • Leftover food and scraps from our kitchens are also provided to local pig farms for feed
  • Rain Water is collected in manholes throughout the property and routed to our Waste Water Treatment plant; which in turn is used for irrigation.
  • Irrigation of the Golf Course comes from treated water from our Waste Water Treatment facility (we are permitted to produce 500,000 gallons per day)
  • Solar Panels are installed on the rooftop of the Vista Guestrooms Building. The panels are to produce energy for that building. We are working on the permitting process.
